n8n is a workflow automation platform you can run on your own server. It is not a prospecting tool, which is exactly why it sits in this catalogue: it is the layer that connects the ones that are. Enrichment cascades that fall back when a provider misses, replies routed from a sequencer into the CRM, lead gates, nightly jobs, alerts. Pricing is billed on workflow executions rather than steps or seats, so a long workflow costs the same as a short one, and the self-hosted community edition is free.

Our advice
How we run it
We self-host n8n on our own server and it runs Enjyn's outbound every night. Three flows carry most of the load. The first sources and enriches leads with a fallback cascade, Apollo then Findymail then Prospeo, so one provider missing does not kill the run; it dedupes against the CRM and the sequencer before anything is paid for, then loads the sequencer. The second routes replies: it classifies them, creates the deal and the follow-up task in Attio, attaches the meeting notes, and pings Slack only when a human is needed. The third powers a free tool on our own site behind a lead gate. Every workflow has an error workflow attached, and a watchdog running outside n8n checks the crons actually fired, because a cron that stops silently is worse than one that fails loudly.

How much does n8n cost?
The self-hosted community edition is free. Cloud starts at 20 EUR a month billed annually for 2,500 workflow executions, then 50 EUR for 10,000 and 667 EUR for 40,000. Enterprise is quoted.
How is n8n priced compared to Zapier or Make?
n8n bills full workflow executions, not each step or task. A 30-step workflow costs one execution, which usually makes long automations far cheaper than per-task pricing.
Should I self-host n8n?
Self-hosting removes the execution cap and keeps your data on your own server, at the cost of running the server, the upgrades and the backups. Some features, SSO and git version control among them, stay on the paid tiers.
Is n8n hard to learn?
It is the most cited complaint on G2: reviewers mention the learning curve more than anything else. If you have never mapped JSON between two APIs, expect a few evenings before your first production workflow.
