Forager

Forager

Credit-metered B2B data API where mobiles cost 15 credits

Overview

Forager is a B2B people and company data provider sold as an API plus a search web app, aimed at enrichment waterfalls rather than at reps browsing LinkedIn. Everything is metered in credits and the rates are published openly: a work email costs 5 credits, a mobile number costs 15, and a person or company enrichment costs 1. Entry is $50/mo for 2,250 credits, which works out near $0.11 per email and $0.33 per mobile, and credits roll over instead of expiring each cycle.

Who it's for

  • Teams building an enrichment waterfall via API
  • Buyers who want published per-credit rates upfront
  • Bursty usage that benefits from rolling credits
  • Data teams pulling job postings or technographics

Not for

Anyone wanting a rep-facing LinkedIn extension · Mobile-heavy work at the entry tier, which caps near 150 · Buyers who need independent proof of accuracy · Teams needing outreach or sequencing built in

Capabilities

  • Work-email and personal-email lookup at 5 credits per result

The honest take

Where it breaks

Forager has almost no public review footprint: one G2 review, and no profile at all on Capterra, GetApp or TrustRadius. That leaves nothing independent to test its accuracy claims against, and those claims are themselves inconsistent, with 99% mobile accuracy on the homepage against 95% on its marketplace listings and record counts that differ by 100M depending on the page. Overage rates are not published, so cost above the top tier requires a sales call. Mobiles at 15 credits also make the entry plan thin for phone work, at roughly 150 numbers a month.

The verdict

Forager is a reasonable API-first data source when you want transparent per-credit rates and credits that do not evaporate at the end of the month, and its published pricing is genuinely clearer than most of the category. The catch is that essentially nobody has reviewed it publicly, and its own accuracy and coverage figures contradict each other across pages. Use it as one leg of a waterfall where a miss costs you nothing important, benchmark match rates against your own list before scaling, and price it on mobiles rather than on the credit headline.

FAQ

How much does a Forager mobile number cost?

15 credits, versus 5 for a work email. At the $50 Starter rate of roughly $0.0222 a credit that is about $0.33 per mobile and $0.11 per email, improving to about $0.23 and $0.08 on the $250 Pro tier.

How many mobiles does the entry plan actually buy?

About 150 a month. Starter includes 2,250 credits and a mobile burns 15, so the headline credit number shrinks fast on phone-heavy work. Model your cost on mobiles, not on credits.

Do Forager credits expire?

No. Credits roll over on monthly plans, and annual plans grant the full allowance upfront. That makes it friendlier than providers that reset the counter every cycle.

Is there an API on the entry plan?

Yes. Full REST API access is included on all three self-serve tiers, including Starter, with endpoint families for people, organisations, job posts and websites.

How large is the database?

The vendor claims 850M-plus person and company records and 200M-plus verified mobiles, but its own marketplace listings say 825M records and 100M mobiles. Treat the numbers as directional, since the sources disagree.
