Proofy

Bulk email verification with a pay-per-check model

Overview

Proofy is an email verification service for cleaning lists before you send. It runs syntax, DNS/MX, and live SMTP checks to flag invalid, risky, disposable, catch-all, and role-based addresses, available through bulk CSV upload, a REST API, and a form widget. Pricing is credit-based: you buy packs where one credit equals one verified email, with per-check cost dropping as volume grows, and credits that never expire. It is positioned as deliverability hygiene rather than a prospecting or email-finding tool.

Who it's for

  • Teams cleaning existing email lists before outbound or marketing sends
  • Buyers who want a pay-as-you-go credit model instead of a monthly seat fee
  • Developers who need a verification API for single, batch, and bulk checks
  • Low-to-mid volume senders wanting to cut bounce rates cheaply

Not for

Teams that need to find or source email addresses, not just verify them · Buyers wanting an all-in-one prospecting and outreach platform · Organizations requiring deep CRM or sequencing integrations out of the box · Anyone expecting a generous free tier rather than a paid trial pack

Capabilities

  • Multi-layer validation: syntax, DNS/MX lookup, and live SMTP handshake
  • Detection of disposable, catch-all, role-based, and risky addresses
  • Bulk CSV/TXT upload for large lists
  • REST API with single, batch, and bulk verification endpoints
  • JavaScript widget for real-time form validation

The honest take

Where it breaks

Proofy is verification only, so teams that also need to find addresses or run outreach will have to bolt it onto other tools. SMTP-based checks are also inherently uncertain on catch-all domains, which can leave a chunk of a list flagged as risky rather than clearly valid or invalid.

The verdict

Proofy is a focused, low-cost way to scrub email lists and reduce bounces, with a credit model that suits irregular or volume-spiky usage better than a monthly subscription. Pick it when verification is the job to be done and you do not need finding, sequencing, or deep CRM integration baked in.

FAQ

Does Proofy have a free plan?

There is no standing free tier. New users get a paid trial pack of 1,000 credits for $4, and Proofy also offers a free single-email checker tool on its site.

How does Proofy's pricing work?

It is credit-based: one credit equals one verified email. You buy packs pay-as-you-go or via subscription (15% off), with per-email cost ranging from about $0.008 down to $0.001 as volume increases. Credits never expire.

Does Proofy verify emails in real time via API?

Yes. It offers a REST API with single, batch, and bulk endpoints, checking an address against MX records and SMTP response in under a second.

Are you charged for duplicates or unknown results?

No. Proofy states credits are only consumed for verified addresses, not for duplicates or addresses it cannot resolve.

Can Proofy find new email addresses?

No. Proofy verifies addresses you already have; it is not an email finder or prospecting database.
